CLOSING CEREMONY AND AWARD PRESENTATION OF THE PAINTING CONTEST “INDEPENDENCE PALACE – COLORS OF HERITAGE”
On April 19, the Unification Hall hosted the closing ceremony and award presentation for the children’s painting contest themed “Independence Palace – Colors of Heritage”, held in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).
The contest, open to primary school students across Ho Chi Minh City, attracted an impressive 785 entries within just three weeks of its launch. More than just a creative playground for children, the contest served as a meaningful opportunity for them to explore, reflect on, and help spread awareness of the historical, cultural, and architectural values of the Independence Palace — a special national relic deeply tied to a sacred moment in the nation’s history.
The award ceremony took place in a warm and respectful atmosphere, with the enthusiastic presence of many parents and teachers from schools across the city — those who had wholeheartedly supported and encouraged the students’ creativity and love for the arts.
Mr. Trần Hữu Phước, Deputy Director of Unification Hall and Head of the Organizing Committee, shared: “Each painting offers a unique and heartfelt perspective of the Independence Palace. The works are not only artistically beautiful, but also rich in historical meaning, conveying powerful messages of peace, national pride, and hope for the future.”
The Organizing Committee presented 40 individual awards and 3 group prizes to schools and units that submitted outstanding entries. The winning artworks will be exhibited at the Unification Hall from April 19 to May 5, 2025, for visitors and students to enjoy and explore.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Van Minh International Co., Ltd. for accompanying us throughout this meaningful competition. Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to the parents and teachers whose dedicated support helped the children bring to life their vibrant artistic expressions of the theme: “Colors of Heritage.”
