HO CHI MINH CITY CHAIRMAN WELCOMES SPANISH PRIME MINISTER AT UNIFICATION HALL
On April 10, at the Reunification Hall, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Được welcomed Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez during his official visit and working trip to Ho Chi Minh City. This marks the first official visit by a Spanish Prime Minister to the city since diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1977.
During the meeting, Chairman Nguyễn Văn Được expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with Spain in the fields of transportation infrastructure, tourism, digital transformation, seaport development, clean energy, and people-to-people exchanges. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez noted that many of the city’s priority development areas align with the strengths of Spanish businesses. On this occasion, Prime Minister Sánchez thanked the city’s leadership for supporting the successful organization of the Vietnam-Spain Business Forum held on the same day. He also expressed his deep appreciation for the warm welcome extended by Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders and extended his congratulations to Vietnam on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (1975–2025).
